Sarel Blaauw’s career spans more than four decades across mining, infrastructure, capital projects, operations, transformation and recovery. His professional foundation was established in civil and mining infrastructure and developed through construction management, contract-mining directorship and responsibility for multi-site operations, commercial performance and capital-intensive equipment fleets.

Sarel founded Tacmin in 1996 and subsequently led multidisciplinary assignments across project development, technical studies, engineering and procurement coordination, construction, operational readiness, performance improvement and recovery.

Working across owner, PMC, EPCM, contractor and operating environments gave him direct insight into how weaknesses in project definition, assumptions, governance, reporting and control can remain disconnected until their combined effect materially affects capital and project outcomes.

In 2018, Sarel established TacminMadini Australia as a separate, independent owner-side capital assurance and decision-intelligence company.

Through TacminMadini, he applies the lessons of project delivery, transformation and recovery to independently test project evidence, identify developing exposure and establish a decision-grade position across the capital lifecycle.

He leads focused assurance engagements underpinned by Governance Decision Intelligence—strengthening confidence before commitment, improving delivery predictability and helping owners and capital providers restore control when project conditions deteriorate.
