Independent Owner-side Governance Assured
Clarity, control and confidence over time
TacminMadini was established to address a recurring failure across complex mining, infrastructure and land-based assets: decisions of long-term consequence are often made without independent governance, clear accountability or reliable evidence. After decades working inside delivery environments, from civil infrastructure through to large-scale open-pit mining, our leadership observed that value is rarely lost through a lack of technical capability. It is lost when governance is weak, decision rights are blurred, and execution is allowed to outrun oversight. TacminMadini exists to restore that balance.
Our Evolution
The business traces its origins to the 1990s with the formation of Tacmin Group, delivering EPCM and project management services across major mining and infrastructure developments. That delivery foundation provided deep exposure to the realities of cost pressure, contractor dynamics, operational handover and asset transition.
In 2018, TacminMadini Australia was established to formalise a shift from execution-led delivery to owner-side governance. Australia’s mature regulatory environment, advanced project controls and digital systems enabled a more rigorous governance model, one that could be applied consistently across jurisdictions and asset types.
Today, TacminMadini operates globally, supporting asset owners through governed decision-making, disciplined oversight and long-term stewardship. |
Our Governance Model
TacminMadini operates independently of contractors and vendors. Governance is deliberately separated from execution to ensure objectivity, transparency and defensible outcomes. We act on behalf of asset owners to:
Digital assurance underpins our work, providing a single source of truth that enables informed decisions, early intervention and continuous oversight across the asset lifecycle. |
How We Work With Owners
We work alongside owners, boards and investors as an extension of their governance framework, not as a substitute for management or delivery teams. Our role is to:
Engagements often span multiple phases of an asset’s life, reflecting the reality that governance does not end at handover and responsibility does not end at closure. |
Responsibility Beyond Delivery
We recognise that assets outlive projects, and decisions made today shape land value, community outcomes and environmental responsibility for decades.
Governance of closure, rehabilitation and land stewardship is treated with the same discipline as capital delivery. ESG obligations are embedded within governance structures rather than managed as parallel activities.
Our responsibility extends beyond completion, to the land, the communities connected to it, and the legacy left behind. |
A Long-Term Partner
TacminMadini is built for long-life assets and long-term relationships. We are engaged where independence matters, where clarity is required, and where owners seek confidence that decisions made under pressure will remain sound long after delivery concludes.
Our measure of success is simple: Assets that remain stable, defensible and valuable over time. |
Founder & CEO - Sarel Blaauw - Perspective
After more than three decades working within mining and infrastructure delivery environments, one lesson has remained consistent: complex assets do not fail for lack of technical capability or effort. They fail when governance is weak, accountability is blurred and decisions of long-term consequence are made without independent oversight.
Years spent across civil infrastructure and open-pit mining, both on site and within delivery teams, revealed how quickly value can be eroded when execution outpaces control. While strong delivery capability is essential, it is not sufficient on its own. Asset owners require independent governance to ensure decisions remain transparent, defensible and aligned with long-term intent.
TacminMadini was established to fulfil that role, acting on behalf of owners to govern decisions, maintain control and protect value across the full asset lifecycle. Our focus remains unchanged: supporting assets that must endure, perform and remain accountable long after delivery is complete.
