Engineers & Constructors for mining & infrastructure
As the ore reserves deplete and the demand for commodities increases, many open-pit mines face the challenge of expanding their operations to extend their mine life, increase production, and reduce costs. Expanding an open-pit mine is not a simple task. It involves many technical, economic, environmental, and social aspects that must be carefully planned, designed, and executed. From our experience, ore planned from logistically constrained mine expansions often is not delivered on time for several reasons not discussed here.
TacminMadini’s design, mine, and construct (EPC solutions for mine expansion) offer our customers a viable alternative over owner-operated managed expansions. At TacminMadini, we have extensive experience in engineering, procurement, and mining, covering open-pit mining projects in eleven commodities. Additionally, our company’s civil infrastructure experience ranges from engineering to procurement and construction to handover of mine infrastructure, single and dual carriageways with bridges, underpasses and services, crushing and screening plants, railroads, tailings-, return water-, stormwater diversion-, emergency-, and storage dams as well as township infrastructure.
TacminMadini can enter the project once the project is deemed feasible and the design phase commences. Our Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) studies are crucial in developing mining or expansion projects. It comprehensively evaluates the project’s operational and economic benefits, helping mining boards to make informed decisions. Upon approval of our PEP (project execution plan), we fast-track the projects with our integrated design, construct, and mine solution.
This involves detailed engineering of the mine expansion, including pit design, infrastructure layout, and equipment selection. Our core expertise has gained vast experience in infrastructure, mining contractor or OEM equipment procurement, enabling us to procure and manage contractors and mobile assets quickly and cost effectively. In Africa, we have procured and managed some of the largest contractors on the continent.
The construction phase follows, where the EPC service provider manages all aspects of the build, from earthworks and civil works to the installation of mining equipment and infrastructure. Upon completion of construction, the EPC service provider oversees the commissioning of the mine, ensuring all systems are operational and meet the required standards. Finally, the EPC service provider may also offer operational support, providing ongoing management and maintenance of the mine and its infrastructure. By offering a turnkey solution, the EPC service provider ensures a seamless transition between each phase of the project, leading to efficient use of resources and successful project delivery.
At TacminMadini, we have been delivering successful outcomes for our clients and contractors since the 90’s. Our business model is based on sound principles and systems, collaborative problem-solving, and pleasant working environments. We have a proven track record of executing projects on time, on budget, and quality. Whether you need to optimize your processes, reduce your costs, or increase your efficiency, we have the expertise and the tools to help you achieve your goals.
