Engagement pathways

Independent entry points for owner-side governance

How engagements begin

Maintaining control, transparency and accountability from first engagement

Owner-side governance engagements rarely begin with a defined scope. They typically start when owners, boards or executives require independent clarity, assurance or control in situations where risk, capital exposure or accountability is increasing. Engagements are shaped around where uncertainty or loss of confidence is greatest, and are scaled accordingly. Most engagements begin in one of three ways.

Most engagements begin in one of three ways.

Independent Review / Governance Audit

Engagements often start with an independent review of decisions, assumptions or governance arrangements before capital is committed or exposure increases. The focus is on validating feasibility, testing alignment and ensuring decisions are defensible before consequences become irreversible.

Independent Assurance & Oversight

Where projects or operations are underway, engagements may begin with an assurance mandate to restore transparency, strengthen owner control and provide confidence to boards, financiers or executives. Governance is applied without assuming delivery or operational responsibility.

Escalation & Stabilisation Support

In higher-risk situations, engagements may commence through escalation or stabilisation support when alignment has broken down, performance has become unstable or exposure has intensified. The role is to regain control, re-establish governance and protect value without displacing accountability.
